It Could Only Happen to You

by Megan   May 23, 2012

Hold me tonight.
Say it's alright.
I know it's not.
Can't make it right,
Not worth the fight,
I'm gonna lose it all.

I'm breaking down.
What am I gonna do without you around?
I'm losing touch,
And there's never enough.
I'm always walking with my head up in the clouds.

(Chorus)
Life doesn't always work out
The way you want it, but
When you keep trying and you're losing
Makes you wonder why
It only happens to you.

What is happy?
It sure ain't me;
A washed up ghost of what a young girl used to be.
Dreams and sunshine,
Love and games.
It all became too hard to play
When thunder and lightning killed the rain, and

(Chorus)

I need to touch the ground and lower my head;
I wonder where it's been. I
Need to look around.
I need to be found.
I need to begin
To say I'm sorry.
To admit my shame.
To be honest and to tell them all I love them again.
To appreciate
All God has done;
Let him know I'm still the one that he made.

And I'm afraid
Of the future,
Afraid of the past.
Want to know if this will last,
Or will I make mistakes
And ruin all that we've made.

What do you do?
What can you say
When you're the only one to blame?

Cry a river.
Build a bridge.
Get over it.
It's a new day.
You're gonna be okay.
Deep breaths,
Relax,
No need to worry.
