Tenuous Grasp

by A Poets Handwriting aka ALISHA   Jun 1, 2012

Slowly, slowly the life fades from your body
Your breath slows to an almost inaudible whisper
As you lose your already tenuous grasp on life

The small form of your body rises ever so gently
So weakly your heart beats, barely grasping life
Holding on for every aching moment possible

Try to say goodbye, but the sorrow is too great
Just a tenuous grasp and we both know the truth
As we can both hear the beats of a dying heart...
