Last piece of image

by DarkLight   Jun 7, 2012

I sit,
waiting nothing to give birth to peace of heart.
I listen,
sounds like flame battle within my ears.
I stare,
the emptiness I see is breaking me.
I smell,
the atmosphere hasn't taken away the taste of your perfume.
Am now watching,
draining every doubt in me.
Letting go every pain .
They make me miss you more,
Let what my heart has,
be what to remind me.
I smile,
as the last of the photo disappear into the flames
because am sure you are at peace with me..
It is my way of asking you to rest in peace now.

I love the sadness in this piece, the heartbreak of losing someone is evident. The way you have setout this poem is wonderful, at first slow so everything sinks in and then in the end, it became faster as if the mourning became part of you and letting go became easier.

Very nice piece. You really capture what goes through a persons mind when burning old pictures of a loved one.

As Xanthe mentioned there are some little mistakes which make the poem sounds a little awkward sometimes.
Other than that it is really good.

Sometimes silence says what we can't explain.
    A little typo on 'disappear'.
    Awesome write. Keep writing :)
