Daddy

by Paula   Jun 30, 2012

The door is inching open
the light hits her face
her Daddy needs to hear her pleas
in their secret little place

Oh my Baby, oh my baby
Daddy loves you so so much
Oh my baby, oh my baby
Daddy knows you like his touch

He takes her by the hand
and leads her to "their" room
she shuts her eyes, screams silent cries
and hopes its over soon

Oh my Baby, oh my baby
Daddy loves you so so much
Oh my baby, oh my baby
Daddy knows you like his touch

Then there came a day
when they took Daddy away
Daddy don't go, you're all that I know
Daddy I beg you, stay

Oh my Daddy, oh my Daddy
How I loves you so so much
Oh my Daddy, oh my Daddy
Please stay and I'll let you touch

The door is inching open
but she's safe now in her bed
she takes some pills, and hopes it kills
the voices in her head

Oh my Baby, oh my baby
Daddy loves you so so much
Oh my baby, oh my baby
Daddy knows you like his touch

I hate the subject matter as its very upsetting. The poem is disturbing and I think its supposed to be disturbing. Its a delicate balance of repulsiveness and reality. Straight forward and I feel your desperation in it. Keep writing. Good job.

Very well written. I love how you didn't need to explain why "Daddy" got taken away, and how she still loved him no matter what he did.
