Damsel

by Maple Tree   Jul 18, 2012

The sheer hopes of tomorrow
lay blanketed midst a sky
of cobalt breezes,
teasing the wisps
of my visions.

I've become a
scarlet damsel,
dormant and
in waiting,
for the perfect
whisper, to caress
a feverish notion.

Scarred by voices
of an ebony darkness,
I'm left alone,
swinging in silence,
to the hum of a
repetitiousness song.
