Lone Survivors

by X Harlea X   Jul 19, 2012

It was beautiful in the beginning,
To hear all the birds singing.
On the final day down by the lake,
We all witnessed the day the earth started to break.

Magma flowed deep through the cracks,
The sky like candy became its tasty snack.
Then the explosions sounding like thunder,
Sent a quake through the ground assunder.

Trees turned to ash as the magma made it's mark,
Burning through everything, we couldn't find the start.
Of where it all started, through and through.
While some of us didn't believe it true.

With fire crackling, earth breaking, explosions going,
It didn't seem right that it was so bestowed.
Life as it was known with all it's armor,
Has left us all as lone survivors.
