Olympic tsunami (senryu)

One finger lands wrong
golden dismount disrupted
bitter silver taste

[On 30 July at the London 2012 Olympics Japan superstar Kohei Uchimura (who later took the individual all around gymnastics gold medal) let a single finger twist wrong, causing him to almost miss a mandatory headstand as part of his dismount. At first he was disqualified on that portion, but after an appeal he was reinstated with a penalty that was still harsh enough to drop the team below China, settling for second place.]

It's hard not to watch the olympics and..I have been catching them from time to time...never seen this one though. Four years of training (probably many more) just gone eh...I know he should be happy with the silver taste but...he will probably be thinking for many more years...it could have/should have been gold.

Better silver than bronze.. or nothing at all.
    Beautiful write, Larry.

;) Actually, this didn't make me sad because I don't watch sports... I found this to be more life funny.. dramatically ironic, to those who lose the golden medals.

    Cool!
