Defiance

People hate me
that could be chiseled in stone
Cause it's the truth
and it dates back ages
More people wanted me dead
than they want me alive
But just to please them
I will keep gasping for air
Every day on this planet
is an act of defiance
Just another opportunity
to get people grinding their teeth
But I want to make this statement,
so let it be known
I already walked this road
and saw the end of it
So push me in that direction
and I will keep walking
The only scars on me
that you will see
Are ones from survival and struggle
not from self harm

    You have written a powerful and inspirational piece here. Your strength and emotion is wrapped in each line. To be able to conquer your past pain, to rise above and not allow those who are negative towards you...to let them bring you down.... is very inspiring. The poem is a reflection of your courage and determination and I am proud of you for writing this!! Very nice!
