Cries From Within the Darkness

by Reyna   Sep 2, 2012

There's a pit of darkness black as night.
in it a girl sits in silence and fright.
the light of day has slipped from her sight.

she longs to be free from the chains on her heart.
she seems blind as she clamors against the walls.
searching for an escape that might ease the pain of sorrow.

her tear-stained face has become to look older
like shes lost her faith in a better tomorrow.

she stands a slave to the depressing feeling
that brought her into this pit of suffering.

her cries for help bouncing off the walls.
till the echoing hell stood still as she fell.

her white dress is stained with gray
to show how her innocence has gone away.
whats left of her just cries in shame,
she does not know whats real and what is fake.

you ask me how i know this girl
how i know how she feels and
i have the same look.

that girl who cries out and longs to be free,
that hurting girl ... is me
