Tiger Eyes

You hold me close,
In your arms
I look into your eyes
You slide your hand into mine

You smile brightly
But I turn away
Unable to look back into your eyes

You ask me what's wrong
I play along and say that I am fine.

You lift up my chin, and look once again into my eyes,
But I hang my head as your eyes meet mine

You hold me close
In your arms
As I look away
Your hand moves softly up my wrist

You lift up my sleeve
And every cut and every wound continues to bleed
You look at me I look away with tears in my eyes
