Listen To Mother Nature

by Stephen   Sep 9, 2012

Sit with me tonight,
let's relish in our surroundings.

Allow the gentle touch of the breeze
to whisk your sorrows away
as the stars paint a picture in the sky
of beauty only matched by their
reflection in the water we peer into.
Listen as the aesthetic waves crash
passionately against the shorelines
as if upset that someone found
pleasure in their demise...

...Mother nature has ways of sharing
secrets to happiness in life...

Your sorrows are present because
it's what you allow, let them pass by
as the wind does on a breezy day.
You are those stars in the sky,
paint a picture of beauty in your mind;
For it will reflect that image to all who peer at you.
Some find pleasure in our demise,
but the delightful magnificence we possess
shall forever be admired...

So sit with me tonight,
let's relish in our surroundings.

This poem is so beautiful. One of the best nature poems I have read in this site. Well penned.

    Adored this!! ><

Such a very loving poem and I enjoyed every line. Also thought the repetition of the beginning at the end worked wonders for the poem and the power. Well done on this one, it is a pleasure to read.

It feels so serene and tranquil to read this piece. I loved the wording and the way you oainted those images of the surroundings.

Hmmm, but I have a suggestion. I think its better be posted under Nature. But then again the writer knows best :)

    Keep it up Stephen!

Stephen I absolutely loved this poem. I loved the inspiring tone I read it in because your words left me just that, inspired! I thoguht this was so uplifting and you did an excellent job writing it.

SUrprisingly, I loved the repitition. I usually hate it, but Im a fan of when its used in the opening and ending of poems. Really nice lines.

    Your sorrows are present because
    it's what you allow

^ this right here is what made the whole poem for me and its a topic that is really touchy with me and that I debate often with people. I don't think many people realize that life is full of choices and if you ALLOW yourself to be depressed or feel sorry, its not because life is crapping on you, its because your ALLOWING IT...such a true statement. I like that you werent in your face about it, but you backed it up with encouraging words on how to change it.

    Very lovely write!!
