Connie the Clown

by Offishall xQuiiZiT Poet   Sep 10, 2012

Connie was 9 and was a act in a show.
Her parents were acrobats.
And she will follow where they go.
But one day her parents decided so far.
That little Connie will grow up, to be a actress to be a star.
Connie was excited to hear about the news.
And her mother took her out to buy little clown shoes. "Momma I want to be a princess, with a beautiful white horse".
And her mother than replied "yes I know honey ofcourse...but being a clown is way much fun,
you can sit you can laugh you can jump and you can run.
You see princesses are lazy and big headed and slow, but with you being a clown you can go where you want to go.
Princesses are restricted to rules while clowns are rebels who act like crazy fools.
Darling you'll be.. a wonderful clown, now let's go.. your dad is waiting at the circus uptown."
Connie wasn't sure about this new clown of a thing.
But it sounded cool, and much prettier then a princess awaiting a king.
Connie then asked her mother about the Circus,
and if she can have a dress that was all dark purple. "Connie your a clown, clowns don't wear dresses, they wear funny shoes with makeup and display all types of expressions.
They wear big red noses thats sometimes painted on, honey your my little girl my idol my star!".
Connie didn't know what to expect later on, but wanted to make her parents proud of a star that was born.
It than hit 8 o clock and the seats was filling up.
And mother made connie wear white and blue makeup. Connie didn't like the sight that she saw, and didn't have a choice but to go on with an applause.
Everyone looked and than started to laugh, and little ol Connie started to feel real bad.
She didn't do anything but walked in the ring, and everyones laughter started to sound the same.
Connie than try to make some little jokes.
But everyone laughed more and than they provoked. "You stupit little girl your jokes are ridiculous, maybe you'll be more funny when you act more serious". Connie didn't know what the stranger have meant, but off came her hat and there it have went.
A tall older clown stepped into the ring, and everyone just started and stopped haha-ing.
"You should all be ashamed of making fun of this poor girl, she just wants to be a star in this ol non-fun world, I am clooney the clown that everyone laughed at when things wasn't so funny and made me feel sad.
So here I am again telling you All, this just isn't just isn't FUNNY AT ALL!".
Clooney walked off stage and then went outside the tent, and Connie ran backstage before she was sent. She ran pass her parents who stood in her path but Connie ran around her mom and her dissappointed Dad. Connie ran outside where it then started to rain, and all Connie felt was a bad heartache pain.
"I don't wanna be a clown nomore, a star or a princess. I want to be who I was before.
And not get upset.
I got laughed at and I didn't like the feeling.
And all the jokes just made me want to hit a ceiling.
And while all the people in the tent continued to laugh inside.
Connie just felt pain....and then she began to cry.
