Exhale

by Maple Tree   Sep 30, 2012

Fields of Gladiolas
march in unison
to the flowing winds
above me,

breezes vacuum
the inner breath
I exhale,

whisking me away
along the wings of
a cardinal,

red feather
carpet of
royalty
allows me
to enter
the palace
of my
forgotten
home...

"I am near"
said the owl
with a staggering
expression,
blanketed
wings
drench
my spirit
in warmth.

No longer
am I the caged
one-

I soar in the night
with my beloved
Mother Nature....

Beautiful poem Maple, I love the shapes your poems make, they are alwyas unique and make me think about what they could be. They may not be intended to look like something but they always appear like they could be something!
