Tranformation Into The Night

by Robert   Oct 6, 2012

Walking in the shadows of the night,
as sounds would give way to a sudden fright.
I ran far into the distance with no one in sight,
without turning around as if to invite.

Soon enough my legs weren't quite right,
for the muscles in my legs lost all their might.
My mind was clouded with a sense of contrite,
as to uncover the reason that could have led to this nite.

Eventually the situation turned into a sorry plight,
for I knew I too would have to fight.
This on-coming pursuer that broke the barrier of light,
as if taking on a form of rapid flight.

Captured by the shadow who had locked me in their sights,
Had a ghastly face plastered in white.
It sinked its teeth, and began to bite,
and my body was stimulated with a sense of delight.

Once released, I felt a bit trite
for I had completely lost who I was this very night.
Turning my head a little forthright,
I too had begun my feasting tonight.
