Which Fate?

by X Harlea X   Oct 24, 2012

Capitivated by the depths
of your eyes I can't escape.
You crowd me with your frightening size.
So this is my fate?
Murdered by a stalker
who never should've been given a gate?

The wind picks up to show
that the awaiting storm is coming.
Distracted as you are
I turn and take off running.
Heavy footsteps follow me through
the pouring rain and thundering.

Over at the docks I throw
myself off and get pulled under.
The waves bash me up against the posts
while I begin to wonder.
Will death come from the waves
or the stalker above with the thunder?

OMG I am in love with this, I love the flow and the rhyme, ( yeah I know, I just really can't help falling in love with rhyming poems )

The imagery in this is actually more powerful than perhaps you meant it to be. The stalker verses death by choice, the thunder, the waves which are out of control and thrashing you about. It is all very powerful and the speed of the poem is as fast as I assume someting like this would happen.

    Great creative poem, well done.
