We all wear mask as we walk around.
thinking we see who others are.
one day we'll wonder,
but for now we'll watch.
some change their masks from day to day.
others stay the same for years and years.
eyes staring out
from behind this lie
hiding our true feelings
in this masquerade parade.
we all know the truth.
we are just hiding
from a monster
that others may see
we're all hopeful
others cannot see
though we hide
our true selves carefully.
the deceptive lies we tell
be hind these masks
hide the vilest thing of all,
ourselves
