Under my lovely belly button

by Karla   Nov 9, 2012

I am not split
when I feel that
old danger below my navel
as the arms of the clock
embrace my will
to be side by side
with comets
and the jealous moons
of Venus.

The unlike poetry
of my sex is strange
and elusive.
(Can't remember who said that)

Maybe The Tarot Cards
have the answer.
They read me today:
I may fall again
on Devil's bed.
He will help me
to bring out what is already
in me.

And
it is so sweet
to sin freely
without the exhausting
burden of love.

I've always found "belly button" annoying, liked how you used it, though. :)

    "He will help me
to bring out what is already
    in me."

This and the ending stood out for me. Beautiful poetry, Karla.

I believe there is alot more woven into this piece than meets the eye on first or second read...that makes me want to re read over and over :) I thin the last stanza says it all. Great poem as always.

This poem made me giggle, because I know about these pleasures too, off course!

Sad that parents make us feel bad things will happen if we indulge in it:)

    Well done,
