Damnation

by Timothy   Nov 26, 2012

You take for granted each and every day,
The morning and the sunrise, but still you do not pray;
You may talk to Him, but it's a superficial note,
A genie in the bottle, with every wish that utters from your throat.

Hell and Satan just never seemed that dire,
It was an idle threat to be cast into the fire;
You lived well, we all do what we can,
It's impossible to be better than your fellow man.

But imagine now, as you stand before The Throne,
As every transgression is flashed before you, every sin is shown;
You see the face of your Maker, you see the tears in His eyes,
And you know YOU are the one who made the Almighty cry.

The shame you know, no fire and brimstone will subdue,
As the Lord's words pierce through you:

"I gave you gifts, the chance to help all humankind",
"You could have done My wonders, but you let it slip your mind";
"I didn't want you to brag, and money doesn't mean a thing",
"You once had the faith of the King of Kings".

"But now it is too late, nothing more to see through",
"Because you see, I no longer have any faith in you";
"Turn away, you must leave My sight",
"Forever cast now, away from the Light".
"You've broken My heart, as only a child to a Father can do,"
"Leave Me now, I am ashamed of you!"
