You're not it

by Thomas   Nov 29, 2012

More than once
has this crossed my mind
Like taking a sad tape
and putting it on infinite rewind
Same feeling, same idea
A thick red wire
sending a constant vision
diluted by emotions and desire

That you are
not the light
that makes my eyes shine
Not the beat
that keeps my heart going
Not the hooks
that pull up the corners of my mouth

If we were to play
a game of tag
and my grasp would reach
and touch your skin
you still
wouldn't be
it
for me

I really like this poem, I interpret that despite the good things this certain person offers you it could never fill the void.

I maybe wrong but this is what I take from this write, it's so true sometimes a person can lift your spirits but like a drinker to much of them can really get you down.
