As Difficult as it sounds - Who are you?

by TheDarkCloudBehindthePoet   Dec 16, 2012

I've followed you since I was a little boy long ago,
Not knowing what to expect from you, I just went with the flow,
Celebrating your grace and mercy for years in a row,
Each and every time, my faith would grow,

But know I see you for who you are,
A child with a magnifying glass, burning us from afar,
No more divine intervention, saving young ones lives in a car,
Is this who you really are?

Are we not worth the effort anymore,
We admired you, trying to get as close to perfect, but still it was you we adored,
Living a semi-righteous life to get to your door,
You are an insufferable bore,

High and mighty sitting behind your desk,
Sending young ones to an eternal rest,
I love you but its just,
I can't follow someone whose will is to send us to death.

Oh Chris Be still my heart!!!!

I'm saddened this piece has no comments! The reason I say this is because your heart speaks of a subject most writers choose to stear clear of... to question a higher power is an emotion that many of us face in trials and tribulations of our lifes... It truley amzed me the elegance you penned here.

I got wrapped up in the pain within this piece. Often times, we suffer at the loss of the ones we love, I too have questions in my own spirituality when it comes to watching my love suffer from Cancer... so this poem really got to me. Thank you for sharing this piece with us Chris!!

Oh my goodness you have me blushing :) thank you so much it is very much appreciated. Yes, your spirituality is one of the more controversial subjects to discuss for obvious reasons. I just felt compelled to speak out about it. I posted this on my facebook and received no comments as well (go figure) but thank you for the love ;)
