Wings

by Thomas   Dec 27, 2012

When the ground crumbles
and the world has lost value
just spread your wings,
immerse into the clouds.
Look down with a weary smile
to the scuffling down below.
To the people who crawl
for money to spend.
You're already above it,
no reason to transcend.
If God doesn't bother
why would you?
Do your own thing
and follow your own will.
Keep moving
and never stop.
Standing still is not forbidden
but being stuck is.
Stay ahead of the past,
avoid gloom and sorrow.
All I possess
are my old demons.
Not really the type
to show mom and dad.
But know that my loyalty
is longer than endless,
that every separated moment
one is of longing.

I like this poem because it has wisdom that we all can apply. If we allow ourselves to be entrap by our past mistakes and continue to hold on to life's sorrows we will find ourselves on a path heading downward where nothing but pains awaits.

    Very meaningful...
