The Forsaken [Tanka Trilogy]

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 28, 2012

Unplanned

accidents along
skeleton-like, unpaved road,
trying not to look
frightened, but still trembling-
lips to never close again.

Unlamented

midnight falls down wrong,
acapella fear coming,
no one is watching
us now- quick, steal the arrows
while time is singing sorrow.

Unmatched

blood as frozen as
rain, sliding ice across touch,
the opposite of
sand, contrary to time's slow
yet easy escape- morrow.
