Kaw River

by Maple Tree   Dec 31, 2012

I miss the patchy,
secret place,
where I escaped
to often.

Muddy trail leads
to a silent spot
where I would
bask in silence.

Sun spots dangled
through evergreen,
sprinkling natures
glitter, refreshing
my spirited soul.

Deadwood became
my lounge chair,
raven locks
mingled in silent
conversation's
with neighboring
leaves, and a
dragonfly knows
the secrets of
paradise.

Rustling winds
can be heard
in the east, where
I ache to bathe
in the beauty of
its simple elegance.

It's a place where
smiles come naturally,
sorrow is only myth,
because in
heaven there is only joy
and the river is my eternal
resting place....

I intended to have a day away from here but you drew me in again Andrea, this was beautiful...absolutely breathtaking yet solemn and sad, a longing and a hurt that through the lines can be felt.

    Hugs and love xxx

I miss having my own secret spot. No better muse than nature and ones self together. Awesome to read.
