Dancing > Drowning

by Chelsey   Jan 12, 2013

Darkness closes in and my spine shivers
as the coolness of the enemies breath
layers itself on my skin. My eyes are watery,
but I refuse to cry. My pulse is racing, but I
refuse to be scared. Attacks only give me the
courage to defend myself and what is mine.

Its so easy right now to spit on my dreams,
step on my happiness, and end all my reasons
for moving forward. So easy to grant this evil
my innocent heart, surrender to its wicked ways,
hate who I've become, die in its destruction.

Yet, daily, I look in the mirror and say-

"Be still my beating heart and know that He
is God. Healer. Provider. Protector. Uplifter."

I must go through trials to reach my
purpose driven destination. I must cling
to the only light that finds me worthy to
shine on. I must go to that place where
He wraps me in His arms and whispers-

"Sweet child, I tell you the truth, I will
never leave or forsake you. I will never
let you stumble without placing you back
on your feet. I will never lose faith in you.
For I am your maker and no one will ever
love you as much as I."

My sky is blackened and I should feel
ashamed, burdened, discouraged, yet,
His promises give me the strength to
dance in the rain instead of drown in it.

Your faith is strong, I know that, I can feel it in this piece, and how you have used that faith to turn your life around, you look to God for direction and you believe he gives it to you, but what do you feel when the bad things happen, what are his intentions then? He cannot fix everything, but to you, he gives you strength, hope and that is enough.

A very uplifting write here Chelsey, showing that faith is your saviour, your strength,
written very well, and speaks volumes.

More dancing less drowning, let's have faith that everything will be all right, but never forget that first we need to help ourselves that God will help us get out of a mess.

But also know that not everything is in God's hands to fix, He gave people a free will, and unfortunately, those who do bad actions with their free will, God can't change it.

It's a very uplifting poem, I really like.
