World of Andrea

by Maple Tree   Jan 29, 2013

Why do I write?

A question often asked,
curious eyes seeking
for a polished answer,
glorified responses were
never my forte-

Because it's part of me.

It's not a magical redemption,
nor a coveted gift bestowed
upon me at birth,
but a part of me that needs
to breathe slowly, side by side;

In unison with the blink of each
teardrop shed-

If I stopped writing,
the world of Andrea
would seize to exist,

much like death, but not so-

For my words will forever be read
by somebody somewhere, and
the spirit of me will be felt always,
with the ones of love....

Yay! A little bit of Maple in a poem. Love the attitude in this one and the bond between poet and pen. You are sharing a part of you when you share your poems and it is mainly through these poems that we all get to know each other.

I am not going to do that.......ever.....

    or never.....ever

This is simple yet great, it gives us a nice insight into why you write.
