Zombie

by Mandi   Feb 7, 2013

Every morning I am Zombie
A stark reminder, you have been taken from me
A little something pushes me through the day
Will my zombie ever go away?

I trip and stumble through the tasks of day
Will zombie ever leave me; I have to find a way
At night my zombie is still, to recuperate and rest
A few hours no more, 4 or 5 at best

And in the morning when I awake
Zombie has returned, another day for her to take
More days in limbo, the darkness fights the light
Zombie will take over if I don't step up to the fight

The fight will be long and sometimes lonely
To give in to the dark would be easy, if only
The light is more precious and far harder to gain
Zombie rips at my heart and finds pleasure in the pain

Time will pass and Zombie will fade
I have to be stronger or momentum she will gain
Zombie is dark and Zombie is clever
But my light is stronger, never give in, never....
