If you think you know me

by man without a mustache   Feb 14, 2013

If you think you know me
Stop
And think again
There is more to me
Than anyone cares to know

18 years of life
Filled with deceit
And sorrow
And lies
And disappointments
And misunderstandings

I've seen what murder devastates
I've seen what divorce destroys
I've seen what drugs decay
I've seen what fights fray
I've seen too much in 18 years

But

I've seen what work welds
A hardened value
I've seen what commitment conjures
An unbeatable ethic
I've seen what honesty honors
An amazing feeling
I've seen what independence imagines
A glory greater than Beo
I haven't done enough in 18 years

18 years of life
Filled with joy
And laughter
And glory
And victory
And friendship
And honor
And victory

Overcoming all odds
Proving all wrong
If you think you know me
Stop
And ask me
For I now know who I am
