Memories of a Poet

by Gary R Priester   Feb 20, 2013

Memories are treasures
We can share or hide

They stay in our heads
As time passes by

Mine are different from yours
Seen only through my eyes

Some faid and diminish
Though to recall them we try

Others strengthen to dominate
We can't hold them inside

They burst forth uncalled for
To make us laugh or cry

But where do they go?
When it's turn to die

Oh... I'll try to save mine
In these words they will hide

Inspired by writing "I Remember" the story of my life

Memories are indeed true treasures and like your poem says some fade and some just live on. I liked how you have brought this topic of memory alive and surrounding it with a mystery..another good write :)
