No More Pain

by Dominique Lewis   Feb 22, 2013

The clock keeps ticking and it seems like it will never stop,
If only this world would go to a stand still so I can get away,
My breath is coming out in gasps as I'm about to drop,
Just take my life...there is no time to delay.

He wraps his enormous hands around my neck,
As he kisses my cracked lips causing them to feel shattered,
With tears filling my eyes as he gives me a hard peck,
A shot rings through the air and the animals all get scattered.

I slip down to the earth below just glad that it is finally done,
He drags my lifeless body along the narrow bridge...getting aroused by my corpse,
He rips off my damp bloody clothes one by one,
As he rapes me one last time letting out his moans and his voice gets hoarse,
"My girl we are finally done."

He tosses me over into the deep abyss of the swirling water,
The man picks up his bag and starts to walk home to his wife,
Up the stairs he goes to his fragile daughter,
Slipping down to the floor but he suddenly looses his precious life,
From the poison flowing through his veins.

Gentle child starts to laugh and shouts out with absolute joy,
For the evil monster from under her bed is dead,
Skipping down to her mother as she picks up her favorite toy,
Now this lovely families' life won't be filled with anymore dread.

The clock is at a still and finally they have freedom till the end of time,
Daddy isn't going to be hurting his baby girls anymore,
"Tick tock" says the father clock as it starts to chime,
Evil creature is no longer alive and good riddance to the man they never adored.

Life is better for the family and they can finally move on with their lives.

Definitely a dark poem and I like the hopeful twist at the end and the surprising strength the little girl has even though her father drops dead. Seems to be her own actions that do so. So it is an interesting twist
Especially since you call her gentle and little.
