The Unwanted

by H. Elizabeth   Mar 18, 2013

I am the
Unwanted.
The leftovers nobody wants
The used tissue nobody will touch
I am the
Unwanted.
My touch is poison
As the people shrink away from it
Because of the depression
Leaking out of my soul
I am the
Unwanted.
My true soul which nobody can see
The piece of me weighted down with
Chains
Barbed wire
Razor blades
Dressed in dirty rags
Covered in
Filth
Anger
Depression
I am the
Unwanted.
The piece of gum
Stuck to the bottom of a shoe
That everyone wants to get rid of
My stickiness that gathers other debris
Dirt
Anxiety
Confusion
I am the
Unwanted.
I am the thing
People shrink away from
I am the filth beneath my skin
I am the
Unwanted.

I like the form and the repetition in this piece. It's absolutely great. The pain just leaks out and cements itself through the poem. The metaphors used are so good.

    Ex: The piece of gum
Stuck to the bottom of a shoe
That everyone wants to get rid of

That will probably never be written in another piece of poetry. really unique.
    As always, raw and painful.

    I love you, doll.

Man, this is one very sad poem you got here, gloomy, more like it. I see youre more into the sad poem thing nowadays. Anyways, good one. Keep up with the writing. Hoping to see more, a happier one maybe?
