My best friend

by FirelightHorse   Mar 31, 2013

Your mane is flowing
Like the wind throwing
My hair about.

Your coat is shining
Like the sun crying
Drops of gold on you.

Your ears are moving
Like the arrow turning
On a weathervane.

My eyes are shining
As I sit smiling
Upon your back.

One look at you
And I fell in love.
My heart flew
Away like a dove.

You are an equine
But so what?
You are my best friend
No matter what.

Such a beautiful poem, really inspiring, you really captured the wondrous beauty of horses, I have always wanted to have a horse to ride, it must be wonderful, I haven't rode one since I was four, wonderful poem, brought back the desire to ride one and forget the outside world exists! :) Two thumbs up
