The soft summer breeze

I can taste on my tongue
The soft summer breeze
The wind around my neck
In the shade of the trees.

My thoughts drift away
Like the sparkling spray
Of the river rushing down
In her silver gown.

The birds overhead
Glow in the rising sun.
Flying across the sky
They sing a lullaby.

The rushing of leaves
In the summer breeze
Lifts me off my off the ground
Into the land of dreams.
