One Child

by Jessie   Mar 31, 2013

One child that has lost her way...
Grew up with misery and sadness in her life...
Though she knew that she was loved...
It didn't always feel like it...
Every waking moment of her life...
Was a struggle just to make it to the next one...
Never really daring to dream about the future...
Because she never really thought...
That she'd live long enough to have a future...
Food was the only real comfort...
But even then...
It was still hard to find...
Her way in this world...
If only help had been given...
To a tortured soul much sooner...
Maybe a lost child could have found her way...
As it is... a girls cries went unheard...
The girl grew up...
And wonders...
How to escape the life full of darkness
She now leads...
And a life full of pain and hurt...

Food was the only real comfort...
    But even then...

Even a sad poem can have build in funny bits, and I love the contract between sadness and lightness
