By the Ocean

by Ali   Jul 1, 2004

The sky fills with color as the sun goes down
The lighthouse light flickers on
I run to the beach

The wind blows
The crashing of the ocean waves sends a valentine to my ears
The cool air bites at my skin
I hear a boat leaving its dock in the distance
The seagulls flutter their wings
The cool ocean breeze whistles by
And I begin to play.

The sun has gone down.

I must leave the beautiful ocean for home
The wind blows towards me
The seagulls fly in front of my path
The ocean waves crash harder

As if trying to keep me from leaving its presence
I am also sad to have to leave the beach
For at the beach I wish there was no time to go
But I\'ll return again some other day.
