Change the World

I dedicate this poem here, this poem goes to everyone out there. Change is on the horizon. We as a people need to answer it together.

Pouring a little honeyed potion in your ear can change a thought,
of everyone's sacrifices and blood-spilled, all the battles we fought,
ending in the same place where we started it all,
taking away our safety net to break our fall,

I am tired of fighting within the country I live,
taxing the air we breathe, making laws I can't forgive,
but it's not just the politicians that we have to change,
it is also ourselves, balance in our lives we must regain,

To stop hating one another because of color or creed,
but looking at ourselves, we need to believe,
in helping your brother and uplifting your sisters too,
we are in this world for just that, you must know its true,

The foul language we use, disrespecting each other,
selling dope on the corner, breaking the heart of our mother,
yes I do all the above, but the first step to change is to admit it,
let us come together and change the world, so we can say we did it.
