Poem for Biddy

by Shaylee   May 5, 2013

Hark ye, I can hear the angels song
A wondrous voice has ne'er been heard
No melody was ever so sweet
From man nor beast nor bird

Fear naught the voice which calls you
Fear naught the darkness which doth descend
For I can feel the warmth of a shining light
And the promise of a peace without end

I have felt the caress of the wind on my cheek
Basked in the light of the stars above
Danced in the rain of the heavens
And trembled in the arms of true love

I have wept an ocean of sorrow and joy
Lived a million moments of content
Walked hand in hand with the ones I love
Found solace in a life well spent.

My eyes have devoured a thousand sunsets
Alas! With pleasure I look upon the last
I can taste the sweet promise of eternity
As I step from today, into the past

Upon your dreams I shall take shelter
Those memories you press to your heart
I shall wait not far, behind that veil
Together again, and never apart

Dear one, do not give way to grief and pain
Nor let the shadows lead your heart astray
Weep not, my love, for what you have lost
For in your heart I shall always stay

For I have loved to live my life
Death I do not fear thee
So as long as you remember with love
So love shall be immortality
