Remember?

by Tessa Hazzard   May 13, 2013

Her room,
It's covered with dust,
It's been two years,
and nothing's been touched.
Her bed is exactly how it was,
on the last day she woke up,
Her clothes and things still all sit there,
the rope still on the floor and the camera still waiting.
Her trophies lie on the bookshelf,
And everything that goes along with it.
he drawers and the dressers are all lying open,
But you don't ever want to close them.
Remember in those pictures,
in all of them she smiled?
Yet all you can think of in your memory,
is that last sound of her crying?
Remember her beautiful blonde hair,
Blowing through the wind, so lightly?
But all you can think of is it braided and still,
across the rope on her neck.
Do you remember,
her beautiful, soft voice?
Oh, how it sounded like silk.
All you think when you try to remember,
is the fact that she will never speak again.
Remember the last night,
When you kissed her on the forehead,
bent down and told her you loved her?
As you looked,
To those beautiful, blue eyes.
What you last saw of her breathing,
Oh, how that made you smile.
Your picture is still,
On top of her desk,
She loved you very much.
But you can only blame yourself?
Remember her beautiful smile?
Remember her blue eyes?
Remember her soft, lovely skin?
Her blushing red lips?
It's been so long,
since you last saw her face.
Still you remember the details,
of her everlasting beauty?
It's been so long,
nothing's been touched.
Not even the video camera,
has even been watched.
Where she last said I love you,
Where she last said I'm sorry,
Where she last took her breath,
her one last tear.
You've tried to forget,
Just for a moment,
to clean up her room,
and straighten her desk.
You only ended in tears,
when you looked to her desk.
You can't even try,
to forget that she's dead.
As you walk past her room,
You hear her voice missing,
Not even a single breath.
Remember her?
Remember that face?
You'll never forget.
