Stay Here With Me

by Tessa Hazzard   May 13, 2013

Being one, I know it's true.
You are in pain, you're hurt,
you feel lost and broken.
I'm here beside you tonight,
As I see what you see in your hurting mind.
but then I look at your eyes,
they're shining so bright,
brighter than any star in the sky.
You are so beautiful,
Right in this moment,
On this perfect night,
I know that you're amazing,
nothing can change my mind.
I can understand,
when I look at your wrists,
What I can't understand,
is why you had to do this.
I know that you know it,
You just won't let yourself understand,
Giving yourself pain,
won't ever be a successful plan.
Faking smiles,
masking tears,
wearing long sleeves,
long pants,
saying your cold.
That works,
but it doesn't,
not for your bleeding soul.
On this night,
I see your smile,
I see your face,
It's perfect.
I don't care what they say,
So don't throw your life away,
Stay with me here,
for the rest of today.
