A Crab in the Moonlight

by TheDarkCloudBehindthePoet   Jun 1, 2013

His poem is dedicated to my fellow Cancers (Zodiac). The moon affects me a lot when it's full. Sometimes good or bad depending on my state of mind. Moon is mother to us. Use her as an outlet. Don't keep the hurt locked inside you.

Swimming through troubling waters just to get a glimpse,
of her majestic beauty,
from under the water, her radiance lights the way,
he makes haste to the sand,

Washed a shore he's finally there,
basking in her grace,
no feelings of aggression or depression,
closing his eyes, listening to Poseidon's heart-beat,

"Leave it all here tonight", echoes in his shell,
"don't take it home with you",
"just talk to me and I'll take away your pain",
"relax child, mother is here",

Tears of joy fall from his eyes,
the feeling of acceptance,
no one has ever cared about his pain, only causing more,
a near-life experience is commencing,

With all his strength and might, he yells at the top his lungs,
all the anger, sadness, pain, love, and lost leave his heart with every passing second,
yelling until he faints, a shell of himself now,
awaking too a new day,

In the moonlight is when he can come out of his shell,
no one is there to hurt him,
the only time he can be free from all his tribulations and be himself,
giving praise to his mother, the only one who will never let him go.
