One Hundred Thousand Stars

by Marky   Jul 28, 2013

Here I am, sitting right here,
thinking about what I hold dear.
Under the night sky,
asking myself why.

one hundred thousand stars n' my life here in scars,
I'm lonely tonight and no one making it right.

Not even the moon so bright,
With its soothing cool light,
holds the answers I seek.
just shimmering mystique.

Casting shadows and casting doubt,
I look above for a way out.
I wonder where you are,
so I crave you from afar.

one hundred thousand stars n' my life here in scars,
I'm lonely tonight and no one making it right.

Grasping at dancing shadows n' illusions,
grandeur and you fuel my delusions.
where you used to be, but not now,
even after this, I wonder how.

I wonder how, I wonder how,
I want you to see me now.
How I came to be staring at the sky.
listen to me plead n' cry why.

one hundred thousand stars,
and I'm lonely tonight.
my life here in scars,
not one making it right.

Not a million stars could distract me,
from the hold you have over me,
one hundred thousand stars,
just enough for all my scars.

I look at each one,
admire its beautiful grace.
holding back the sun,
long enough to see your face.
