Temptation

by Jenni Marie   Jul 31, 2013

They say we all have a guardian angel
watching over us; but what happens
when your angel is simply deceit
and betrayal dressed up in disguise?
What happens when they tempt
you with lust and infatuation and
claim to be wholesome pure love;
only for you to realise later they
only wanted to tempt you into
a moment of sin for the night?

That they wished for you to
become lost within the sweet
moment of hope, desire and
carnal attraction and love?
And before you know it, you've
fallen hook line and sinker and
you're locked inside this beautiful
rose smelling garden only you and
he are aware of, and you're
standing with arms outstretched

welcoming the gentle showers falling
from the baby blue sky, breathing
deeply as you feel your soul being
cleansed and you forget for a moment
that the piano keys you hear
murmuring in your heart are only
his sweet lullabies of dishonesty
and promised fairy tales that will
never come true.

For when he was created he was
created with only the sole purpose
of ruining everything that was
supposed to be good and honest
and pure. Hate and rage swells
within his heart and he cages anything
he can latch onto, spreading his poison
to the very depths of the earth.

Prompts:

The devil's rock
shades of spring
secret garden
dragon song
lost in the moment
black angels
if only for tonight
there was a little boy
