Talking To The Mirror

by devereaux   Oct 11, 2013

When I look in the mirror, you know what I see?
Someone in there, looking back at me.

I say, what's a matter, you look so sad?
I guess it's because, I'm treated so bad.

I say, treated so bad, I don't understand,
Is it because, your lawman?

Yes, that's it, you hit the nail on the head.
And sometimes I wish, I just wish I was dead.

Come on now, don't be no fool,
Don't let your feeling rule over you.

Negative feeling come and go,
So don't let them deal you a fatal blow.

You do what you do, because you're strong,
You're a powerful being, who deals with wrong.

What would society do?
If they couldn't call you.

And you may get there, after the crime is done,
But don't feel bad, you can't help everyone.

But feel real good, about what you can do,
The prisons are full, cause of people like you
So be the glue, which society needs, to keep it all together.
Cause you the law, and you took an oath, to try to make it better.

So as I looked in the mirror, I begin to see,
Just who it was, looking back at me.

I said, shame on you, have you lost your mind?
You're stronger than this, and your way out of line.

You wouldn't do this, if you didn't think you could,
There's something wrong here, I must have misunderstood.

So you in the mirror, you got it all wrong,
I'm where I'm at, and I'm where I belong.

So get out the mirror, and be on your way,
You're looking good. And everything's ok.

You're making a different! Believe it or not,
And you're training is different, cause you're a member of swat.

So when things get tough, and they need the best,
It's you they call, and you bring the rest.

Of the men and women, who are on the team.
To get special criminals, who's hard core, and mean.
So no more, will I be in the mirror, to see,
That sad ass person, looking back at me.

When I look in the mirror, you know what I see?
Someone in there, looking back at me.

I say, what's a matter, you look so sad?
