Stigma

by Rhi   Nov 29, 2013

On the outside looking in,

It never really matters,

On the inside looking out,

There's so much confusion.

There's no understanding,

Without a proper conversation,

How can there be integration,

With the rest of the population.

So much needs to be said,

So many words left unspoken,

But who are we to say,

Who is right, and who is broken.

On the inside looking around,

It's a while new place,

New rules to learn,

New ways to speak.

You can see the misunderstandings,

The ways we miss the lines,

We miss the meanings,

Of what other want to say.

We need to face each other,

One on one, to break the walls,

So much stigma, is in the way,

It's a problem of the times.

Mental health needs recognition,

We need to stand up, be counted,

Shout out with passion in our voices,

We are people, we love, we hurt.

No one deserves to be treated as less,

Their pain is real, to be counted,

Just because you cant see the cause,

Doesn't mean it isn't real. So Listen.
