You Stole my Misery

by Glenn G   Jan 3, 2014

On this, the beginning of a New Year, I find myself looking back on my life, the good, the bad, the do overs, etc. The one thing that stands out more than any other is the day I met you. I had no idea that over the years we would become friends and lovers or that you would bring me so much joy. I never thought that I would ever love again after my divorce or that I would ever want to, but as people we never know who is going to be around the corner or who will be on the other side of the closed door. We have no way of knowing that we will one day meet a person who cuts through our hurt so deep that we can no longer feel the pain. We have no idea that one day someone will walk into our life like a thief, stealing only our misery so we can once again feel joy. And sometimes we start out on a destination and we find ourselves lost and unable to find our way and yet the turn we need to make is right there on the other side of a wall of hurt someone else built.

I am glad you were that one person who gave me back what I had once lost (ME).
