Final Chapter: Apology and Goodbye

by Jack Nightengale   Jan 13, 2014

I am always doing wrong, and I'm the one that gets hurt in the end,
Am I the only monster left without even one friend?
When will this be over, when did it begin?
I'm back where I started yet once again.

This is the end of the book and I'm glad someone was reading,
There's nothing left for me, nothing else that I'm needing.
I will lay my book and pen where I stand,
The gun is well in my hand.

Normally, I'd write to get your attention,
But this one is serious, this is my intention.
I'm sorry for being a monster, I'm sorry for all the pain and sorrow I've caused,
As I slide the hammer back, everything stop, time has been paused.

I found and excuse for my escape,
If I had my camera, these words would be on tape.
I want to thank you for all the moments you made feel real,
I wanted to thank you for allowing my heart to feel.

Though in the end I must say goodbye,
Tears won't be shed for this, and no one will cry.
I'm sorry that I hurt you, I'm sorry that this time I won't get to fly,
This the end for me so, I apologize and goodbye
