My city at night

by twisted faith   Jul 4, 2004

As i sleep at night
I slip into a city of my own
A city I control
Where there's no pain,
no hatred, no egomaniacs

Where everyone's happy
Just being themselves
No need to hide behind a facade
In which they need not
build a wall to keep them safe

A wall which becomes
Impossible to break
Not even the strongest
Of love manages to get through

This is my city at night,
The one overpowering my life,
Taking over my day
My magical healing place.
Why can't it be real?
