Yesterday and Forever

Yesterday and Forever

Your becomings fill my mouth
as I shape what I was and
what I am, thinking less about
noble things.

This is a dream
inside my eyes tearing
the rain in two and I can't change
the course of the waters as
the window invites me
to try again.

Lightness is unreachable
and unbearable for those
who seek refuge in a closed wound.

Why is agony always so sweet
before death?
Why is love an answer when
there is no question?
