Lonely death

Oh solitary death
Wondering what will become of me
Waiting to take my very last breath
I do not want to be afraid
I know there is a time to die
but I still ask myself why
as here in this cold bed I lie
Leaving my loved ones
causes me so much grief
Knowing they will be so sad
Thus I do hope my journey
will therefore be sweet and brief
Will I be ready
Oh lonely death
Sad not to feel the sun on my face
Not to walk along the seashore
Never again to leave one more trace
and never again not to have another warm embrace
Impacts me to my very core
Oh solitary death
Help me understand
with my very last breath
Where my spirit will finally land
Oh lonely death
What will become of me
as I will do my very best
to deliver myself to thee
