Grant me Another Secret ( Saffies' Prompts )

by Everlasting   Jul 28, 2014

Grant me another place to fall
other than these stacks of needles
where bones are pierced to the marrow
and flesh is torn with spikes.

Grant me anther place to fall
where angels fear not the sigh of blood
where trees grow weary of being beautiful
but that they grow and grow
until nevermore

Grant me another place to fall.
Please, don't give me tired excuses,
I have ears, a heart, a mind
I know I can survive.

Grant me another place to fall.
Grant me at least one more secret.
I won't fail you this time.

I'm determined to survive.

another place to fall
determined to survive
tired excuses
where angels fear
one more secret

Wow! What brilliant use of the prompts!

I found this poem of yours had an extremely good flow to it, and the repetition worked for me.

The opening is so vivid with that imagery of a dark place, somewhere really depressing and dull, and painful. You used the needles here really well to portray this.

    Very good job!
