Will You?

by cassie hughes   Oct 5, 2014

After the storm
has washed away
the remains of yesterday's
anger and regret,
and love's butterflies
once more play amongst
the clean, fresh leaves
on the tree of life.
Will you give me
one last chance
to purge my soul
of all gone past,
and help me back
into your arms again?

After the rains
have traced their
tracks down apples
mounds and in between
times careless vales,
to drip their salty essence
far from ebbing seas.
Will you forget
the way things were,
and let me prove
the change I know
has thundered through
my heart, and laid it
open to your love?

...

Will you?

Written from the following prompts -
